BJ’s Bingo Helping the Community

BJ’s Bingo Helping the Community

People at BJ's Bingo Kitts Green

These are difficult times for us all. As the current situation continues to impact every aspect of our day-to-day lives, here at BJ’s Bingo we are struck by one indisputable truth – together, we can get through this.

The first step we took, before the official lockdown, was to close our bingo halls. Nothing is more important to us than the safety and good health of our staff, bingo players, and the wider community that we depend on.

We’ll be back before you know it. In the meantime, stay safe out there (indoors, of course!) and keep an eye on our website and social channels for the latest updates.

Foodbank Egg Donation

As the local community surrounding all of our bingo halls give so much all year round, we wanted to give something back. There is nothing more effective in times of adversity than people pulling together and helping each other out, especially those in need.

To achieve exactly this, prior to the lockdown we decided to donate a van load of Easter eggs to Atherton & Leigh Foodbank. These will go towards feeding those who need it most during this trying period, and perhaps even put some more smiles on faces.

Foodbanks are a vital resource in normal circumstances, so they became even more crucial in the lead up to lockdown procedures. Pictured below, you can see Alan Clinton, Assistant Manager of our Leigh hall, donating the treasure trove of treats. Atherton & Leigh Foodbank were kind enough to give us a shoutout on twitter, but really, the pleasure was all ours.

Join the Facebook Live Quiz!

Whilst the bingo is on hold, we are determined to provide fun and games for the many who find themselves isolated during this time. As such, we have come up with a great idea – an online quiz! It will be live-streamed via Facebook Live, and completely FREE. The details are as follows:

Friday night is Quiz Night from 8:30 pm. Here’s what you’ll need…

We’ll be linking up with familiar faces from our clubs in Leigh, Birmingham and Reading! So, grab a drink, get cosy and get ready to exercise your brain.

Join in on Friday and have some fun, as well as a communal experience during these times of isolation.

As we stated earlier, whilst we must stay apart – times like these are about bringing people together in other ways. The power of the internet allows us to do that more than ever, as does the existence of crucial services such as the Atherton & Leigh Foodbank.

Keep an eye out on here for any further community updates, as BJ’s Bingo is always looking for ways to keep us connected over the coming weeks.
